Wet WEather Policy
At Jack Cox Tennis, the safety and experience of our players and coaches always comes first. While we do our best to deliver sessions as planned, sometimes the weather has other ideas. This policy outlines how we manage cancellations and rescheduling due to wet weather, so everyone knows what to expect.
When We Cancel
Sessions may be cancelled if courts become unsafe or unplayable due to:
Heavy or persistent rain
Slippery court surfaces caused by moisture or puddling
Thunderstorms or lightning
Any weather conditions that may pose a safety risk
We always aim to make the call in a timely and fair way, based on safety, court conditions, and player wellbeing.
How You’ll Be Notified
If your session needs to be cancelled due to wet weather, we’ll notify you via SMS or email at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
If you don’t hear from us, please assume your session is going ahead as planned.
What Happens Next
We’ll always do our best to offer a fair outcome if your session is affected by wet weather:
Private Lessons
You’ll be offered a rescheduled time or a credit for a future session. We aim to find a replacement within the same week where possible.Group Classes & Junior Squads
We’ll attempt to offer a makeup class during the term. If this isn’t possible, a credit may be issued at our discretion.Term Programs
If multiple sessions in a single term are cancelled, we’ll assess the situation and may offer additional makeup classes or a partial credit.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
If a session goes ahead and a player chooses not to attend, it will be treated as a missed session and won’t be eligible for a refund or credit.
Some courts may dry faster than others — we factor this in when deciding whether sessions can run.
Please make sure your contact details are up to date so we can reach you quickly if conditions change.
